The New Testament tells us a story about God coming into our world as one of us. The Gospels tell this amazing story of what this looked like when Jesus from Nazareth came along doing things everybody knew in their heart that only God could do.

These same Gospels tell their story in an effort to help us believe it is all true. 鈥淩epent and believe.鈥 鈥淏elieve and be saved.鈥 鈥淲hoever believes will have eternal life.鈥 While many people believe the Gospels to be true and believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God; there are many other books in our world inviting us to believe everything else, including those that say there is no God.

The God who knitted us together, who has always desired relationship with us, who came to be with us in Jesus, is still with us today in the Holy Spirit. God continues to give birth to faith in humanity because God continues to be with us. Our witness is but a reflection of God with us.

The stories have been told. Today, and for as long as people will pick up John鈥檚 Gospel and read it, the question will remain the same; What do you believe? What is God鈥檚 Holy Spirit telling you?

Faith or no faith, believing was never meant to be stagnant, it is meant to be alive within the human heart soul and mind, because God is alive there. So, whether for the first time or for the sixtieth year our living God will invite us to believe because such belief comes attached to an everchanging world. May we once again prepare ourselves for the season of and after Pentecost. It is a season of believing in the midst of the world around us.
