Weyburn Review, This Week win awards for news coverage

The Weyburn Review and Weyburn This Week publications both earned awards in the Saskatchewan Weekly Â鶹´«Ã½s Association’s 2023 Better Â鶹´«Ã½s competition.

WEYBURN – The Weyburn Review and Weyburn This Week publications both earned a number of awards on Friday, as part of the Saskatchewan Weekly Â鶹´«Ã½s Association’s 2023 Better Â鶹´«Ã½s competition.

Greg Nikkel of the Weyburn Review took first place in the Best Saskatchewan Recreational Story or Series of Stories for “’Dungeon Master’ finds running role-playing game highly rewarding.”

Weyburn This Week staff were among the nominees for an award for Best Special Section, winning third place for "On The Farm".

In the Best Health/Healthcare Coverage Series of Stories category, Greg Nikkel of the Weyburn Review took first place with his story “Organizers hope for ‘sea of green’ with Weyburn mental health initiative.”

In the Best Habitat Conservation Writing category, Greg Nikkel of the Weyburn Review won second for his story “Students have opportunity to see fish hatch and grow in classroom.”

In a series of General Excellence awards, the Weyburn Review won second in the Best Front Page, Class A – Circulation under 1,000 category. The Weyburn Review won third in the Best Editorial Page for Class A, and the Review capped it off with first for Best Overall Paper in their class.

In the Class C – Circulation 2,000-6,499 category, Weyburn This Week won third for Best Editorial Page.
