Weyburn Comp School presents awards to top athletes, performers

These awards cover extracurricular activities and the SRC at the Weyburn Comp

WEYBURN – Awards for the top athletes and extracurricular activities at the Weyburn Comprehensive School were presented on Wednesday evening.

For each sport, there was a trophy and medal for the MVP and a medal for the coaches award, and were as follows.

For junior cross country, the MVP was Jyllian Payak, and coaches award went to Keaton Walter; for senior cross country, the MVP was Emma Zieglgansberger, and the coaches award went to Gavin Tessier.

For senior boys soccer, the MVP was Carter Houghton, and the coaches award was presented to Sidney Sidloski. The senior girls soccer MVP was Eva Severson, and the coaches award went to Bethany Honig.

In junior varsity football, the MVP was Owen Istace, and the coaches award went to Isaiah Sanderson. For senior football, the MVP was Evan Barsness, and the coaches award went to Ben Manning.

For junior golf, the MVP was Cole Godlonton, and the coaches award went to Eli Hansen. In senior golf, the MVP was Darien Herlick, and the coaches award went to Wyatt Godlonton.

For junior girls volleyball with coach Bryan Fleck, the MVP was Addison Greve, and the coaches medal was presented to Hadley Gerle. For the junior girls volleyball under coach Joorisity-Dickie, the MVP was Mizzi Macute, and the coaches medal went to Drey Burgos.

For intermediate girls volleyball, the MVP was Bree Hagen, and the coaches award went to Bryanna Yeik. For senior girls volleyball, the MVP was Jamie Labbie, and the coaches award was presented to Ella Morken.

The junior boys volleyball MVP was Cole Godlonton, and the coaches award went to Nixon Stein. The intermediate boys volleyball MVP was Thomas Olson, and the coaches award winner was Ryder Zackrisson. The senior boys volleyball MVP was Mitchell Cherpin, and the coaches award winner was Aiden Field.

For boys curling, the MVP was awarded to Karter Haupstein, and the coaches award went to Caden Shurko.

In junior girls basketball, the MVP went to Zoe Kerr, and the coaches award went to Natalie Morrissette. For intermediate girls basketball, the MVP was Mya Sanderson, and the coaches award went to Callie Dammann. For senior girls basketball, the MVP was Skyler Kreger, and the coaches award went to Bethany Honig.

In junior boys basketball, the MVP award went to Aiden Mohan, and the coaches award went to Alex Kachan. For junior boys basketball’s freshmen team, the MVP was Justin Duran, and the coaches award went to Calder White.

In intermediate boys basketball, the MVP award went to Thomas Olson, and the coaches award went to Conner Kerr. For senior boys basketball, the MVP was Tensei Iida, and the coaches award was presented to Sutter Balog.

In junior badminton, the MVP was Anna Tronson, and the coaches award went to Braxton Stinson. For senior badminton, the MVP was Ben Manning, and the coaches award went to Brayden Wegner.

In junior track, the MVP Was Meaghan Weger, while the boys coaches award went to Markus Paquet and the girls award went to Zoe Kerr.

For senior track, the MVP was Jamie Labbie, while the coaches award for boys went to Noah Kopec, and the girls award went to Denae King.

The male athlete of the year award went to Ben Manning, and the female athlete o the year was Denae King.

The Bethel trophy and medal went to Ben Manning, and he was also presented with the R.C. Smith General Proficiency Award.

For the Senior SRC, the “Heart of the SRC plaque and medal went to Gracyn Knipfel, and the advisors award went to Chanel Lanz. The senior gavels went to the co-chairs of the SRC, Chanel Lanz and Nicole Hagen.

For junior musical-drama, the trophy and medal went to Calla Hrynewich, and the advisors award went to Meisha and Mataya Bowerin.

For the senior musical category, the Andrea Eckel Award and medal went to Owen Burdan, and the advisors award went to Liam Evans.

The junior choral trophy and medal went to Britany Barber, and the advisors award went to Kailyn McFadden.

The Jazz Band trophy and medal went to Kamryn Neiszner, and the advisors award went to Sidney Sidloski.

For the RISE choir, the trophy and medal went to Owen Burdan, and the advisors award went to Tracy Zagada.

The Performing Arts Award was presented to Braelee Wade.
