SARCAN closed on March 21 after the COVID-19 pandemic was declared then reopened on June 15.

In keeping with public health orders, SARCAN implemented a series of measures to keep themselves and their staff safe.

At this time, SARCAN indicated their paint reuse program and wine bottle sales are postponed to decrease interactions between customers and employees.

SARCAN recommended their Drop and Go program to minimize contact with staff customers in relevance to social distancing. Note: one customer at a time is allowed at the Drop and Go kiosk.

Normally, orders should be managed within five business days with payments for Drop and Go administered through PayPal or by cheque.

Choosing PayPal payments for Drop and Go accounts will deliver the least amount of contact and provide quicker compensations.

Cheques for Drop and Go orders have to picked up at the depot. Moreover, there are no weekly container restrictions for SARCAN鈥檚 Drop and Go services. 聽聽

When visiting SARCAN, physical distancing must be maintained for employees and fellow customers, meaning the two-metre rule will apply. 聽聽

SARCAN is limiting the number of customers in their depots based on the size of their depots and the number of employees on duty at each of their facilities.

If the depot is full, customers are asked to queue-up outside, respect physical distancing and leave immediately after receiving their refunds.

SARCAN advised their customers to have one adult recycler per family. Parents were encouraged not to bring their children with them if possible.
