MOOSE JAW — A Moose Jaw couple is going to have a flashier 30th anniversary celebration than planned, thanks to the Extra Rob Parker added to his Lotto Max ticket for the May 13 draw.

Parker was at the Moose Jaw Superstore Lottery Kiosk at 30 Thatcher Dr. E on May 12 when he decided to pick up a ticket for the draw the next day.

When he returned to the same store a week later, he checked his ticket using the self-checker.

“I thought it was $10,000 or $100,000 but I wasn’t sure because there were a lot of zeroes,” he recalled.

While driving home, the winner said he was doing his best to focus on driving but couldn’t help thinking about all the exciting ways he could share the news with his wife.

“She has been working a lot of overtime,” he said while claiming his prize.

When he got home, Parker says he went over and shut her laptop and told her, “You don’t have to do that tonight.”

Parker said he needs some more time to think about what he will do with his windfall, but he does have one idea in mind.

“Our 30th anniversary is coming up; we might have to be a bit flashier than usual,” he said.

He won by matching the last six digits of the winning Extra number for the May 13 Lotto Max draw – 6041491.
