Access Communications employees successfully completed an internal fundraising campaign that netted proceeds of $11,585 in support of the Food Banks of Saskatchewan鈥檚 Crisis Response Fund, which will help provide bulk food purchasing, food hamper delivery and staff to coordinate efforts during the COVID-19 crisis.
The fundraising campaign included donations from hundreds of employees, as well as contributions from Access Communications Co-operative and the Access Communications Employees鈥� Association.
聽Access Communications is one of Saskatchewan鈥檚 largest telecommunications companies.
鈥淥ur food banks need help now more than ever and as Access employees, we believe in doing our part,鈥� said Tom Boyko, President of the Access Communications Employees鈥� Association. 鈥淲e have been fortunate to avoid layoffs during the pandemic. It鈥檚 only right that we show our gratitude and support to the communities we serve, by helping those that haven鈥檛 been as fortunate during these difficult times.鈥�

Food Banks of Saskatchewan is on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis. Some food banks are experiencing up to a 60 per cent increase in the number of users because of the provincial state of emergency.
