REGINA  — Lee Woods had to check his Lotto Max ticket twice before believing he won $100,000 on the June 2 Extra draw – but not at the same location.

The Regina winner said he went to two different stores before he could believe what was in front of his eyes.

“I didn’t think the machine was working properly,” he laughed while claiming his prize. “I told myself I had better walk away and check on a machine that was working.”

“I called my wife after the second time,” he continued. “She didn’t believe me at first, so I sent her a picture of the machine screen. She looked at it and said, ‘We need to phone somebody!’”

The winner said he has a couple ideas for his recent windfall.

“We’d like to do some travelling,” he said. “Maybe somewhere in Europe.”

“I keep thinking it’s not a life-changing amount of money, but it’s enough to give us peace of mind,” he continued.

Woods purchased his winning ticket at Westside Confectionary, located at 1152 Dorothy St. in Regina. He won the second-highest Extra prize by matching the last six digits of the number drawn on June 2 – 2814329.
