Saskatoon police arrest dangerous driver after collision with power pole

The person faces additional charges

A vehicle collided with a power pole at 31st Street West and Avenue L North.

SASKATOON — Saskatoon police arrested a 28-year-old man after he failed to stop for officers. It was later revealed the individual has outstanding warrants.

Patrol officers, around 12:50 a.m. Sunday, attempted a traffic stop of a 2015 Honda CRV at 21st Street and Avenue R South.

The vehicle instead accelerated at high rates of speed. It was later located abandoned, after having collided with a power pole at 31st Street West and Avenue L North.

A man matching the description of the driver was located a short distance away and taken into custody.

The man is charged with dangerous driving, evading police and breach of court orders. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
