Eight-team basketball tournament planned at Kamsack Comprehensive

Kamsack Comprehensive Institute is hosting a eight-team senior boys basketball tournament.

KAMSACK — The community is invited to enjoy watching an eight-team senior boys basketball tournament being held at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute Dec. 16 and 17.

Being called the KCI Snowball Classic, the competition is to include the visiting teams from: Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS), Assiniboia, Esterhazy, Melville Comprehensive School, Canora, Langenburg and North Battleford.

Play begins at 2 p.m. on Dec. 16 with the KCI Spartans vs. YRHS. Assiniboia is to play Esterhzy Esterhazy at 3:30 p.m.; Melville Comp will play Canora at 5 p.m., and Langenburg will play North Battleford at 6:30 p.m.

The winner of the first game will play the winner of the second game at 11 a.m. on Dec. 17, while the losers, now on the B side, will play one another at 8 a.m. on Dec. 17.  The winners of the third game will play the winners of the fourth game at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 17, and the losers of both games will play at 9:30 a.m.

The winning teams will meet for their final game at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 17, while the B-side final will be played at 3:30 p.m.

The consolation game will be played at 2 p.m. on Dec. 17, and the bronze-medal game will be played at 5 p.m. on Dec. 17.

There is no fee to watch, and there will be a concession all weekend, said Zac Fedorak, an organizer of the tournament. “We would love for the community to come watch the Spartans play.”

Fedorak said that updates on when the Spartans play will be posted on the school Facebook page
