Affinity Credit Union supports community water rescue efforts

In a display of community support, the Affinity Credit Union has made a generous $10,000 donation from its Community Development Fund (CDF) to the Kamsack Volunteer Fire Department, specifically aimed at enhancing water rescue capabilities.

KAMSACK - In a display of community support, the Affinity Credit Union has made a generous $10,000 donation from its Community Development Fund (CDF) to the Kamsack Volunteer Fire Department, specifically aimed at enhancing water rescue capabilities. The significant financial assistance provided by the credit union is set to bolster the local area's rescue services and aid in situations involving water emergencies and more.
The donation was officially acknowledged during a gathering at the James Rudd Memorial Fire Hall on the 18th of July, where Recreation Director Ben Sipple, Fire Chief Ken Thompson, Community Safety & Bylaw Enforcement Officer Sherise Fountain and Joe Kozakewich from Affinity Credit Union met for a photo with the cheque.
The geographical location of Kamsack, blessed with an abundance of rivers and lakes, calls for a robust water rescue team capable of responding promptly and effectively to emergency situations. The upgraded equipment will not only benefit the immediate community but also extend a helping hand to neighboring areas, including Livingston and lake regions, where the rescue team is frequently called upon to provide assistance.
